US Federal Acquisition Regulation overhaul (Executive Order 14275)

Executive Order 14275 of 15 April 2025, “Restoring Common Sense to Federal Procurement”, directed a rewrite of the Federal Acquisition Regulation to remove provisions not required by statute. Agencies are applying the rewritten parts through class deviations ahead of formal rulemaking, so the text governing a given solicitation depends on the agency and the date. Bidders should check the solicitation’s stated FAR provisions rather than assume the pre-2025 text.
